SE Asia

After leaving Lumpini Park, we decided to visit the house, compound, of Jim Thompson, an American architect, who rescued the Thai silk industry and would become known as the Thai Silk King in the 1950's and 1960's.
His silk would be used in the costumes for the film, The King and I.

Thompson had these Teak buildings relocated to this property close to his silk cottage industry.

He felt the tile floors would keep his home cooler. Our guide wasn't sure they helped.

The surrounding gardens.
