SE Asia Mekong Delta

We're having problems downloading photos from the past couple of days from Siem Reap, Cambodia and Saigon so bare with us and we'll catch up later on in the trip.
We're using I-Pad photos in the meantime.

Another early start today as the bus picked us up at 7:30 am for a 1 1/2 hr ride south of Saigon to the Mekong River Delta.

Sticky rice ball.

After a ride in a three-man Sanpan through the jungle, controlled by the Viet Cong in the war, we boarded a covered power boat to cruise the upper Mekong which is over one mile wide. There are many large fishing boats lining the river which service the seafood demands of Saigon.

Being greeted at our restaurant.

This is an elephant ear fish that is caught in the delta. The scales are white and look like rice.

The sticky rice was a little too sticky!
