SE Asia

This village is a model village made up of three ethnic groups including Laosians and two Mountain groups. The 400 residences live in harmony although they have very different backgrounds including religion and politics.
Their annual income is well under the National Per Capita Rate of $2,000
per year but they are doing better in this village than the mountains according to our guide.

The woman on the right is the wife of the village leader and prepared today's lunch. Her youngest daughter is a third year Med Student in Vietnam Nam on a full ride scholarship.

Vicki is shown how to operate a loom in a a factory.

This woman took one week to weave this shawl in which Vicki paid ....very little.
