SE Asia Vientiane, Laos

Our group arrived yesterday afternoon. I (Bud) had some stomach problems and stayed at the Hotel. After feeling better I took a walk too see the Steak and Tapas Restaurant owned by good friends of Momoko and Jeff's where we will dine tonight with Marc and Pam. Also walked along the Mekong River which divides Laos from Thailand.
Just a few observations, The sidewalks are used to park cars, motor bikes and scooters, so you must walk in the street and look carefully for oncoming traffic. In Laos, vehicles drive on the right side of the road which is more predictable as opposed to Thailand. If you do find a sidewalk, beware of huge holes in the concrete. If you're not paying attention, you could break a leg.
Restaurants dominate this area including French. Italian, Swedish bakeries, pizza and the standby Laosian/Thai. You will see many Red Flags which is a reminder you are in a communist country. The woman are a distraction and are gorgeous. The temperature today is in the low 80's with some humidity, but the skies are clear. Everyone is very courteous and bow to you when greeted.
