The Kiel Canal was opened in 1895 to save shipping vessels 400 nautical miles.
It was also a strategic advantage for the German Navy's access to Allied shipping in the North Sea.
Home on the canal with walker on frontage path.
Home built in 1909.
We passed many sail boats headed to the Baltic.
It was a little too cool for swimming in this scenic pond with temps in the high 50's.
