Europe2014

We entered The Bay of Riga at 10:30 am and it is raining. This is the first day of our trip when we need umbrellas. Riga is the largest city in the Baltic States and since gaining independence in the 1990's has become a vibrant city.

We had lunch at Queens Pub.

The old town streets and sidewalks are all cobblestone.

Wonderful building designs.

More interesting building facades.

More charming neighborhoods.

And more...

One of the eight churches located in old town Riga.

Suspension bridge near our moorage with modern bank building to the right.

Opposite side of river with historic buildings.

Another church.

Donna's teenage friend, Ruta, lives in Riga, met us at the ship and took us on a tour of old town. Very nice lady.

- 10:30 pm on way to Riga last night. It remained light until 11:30 pm when we went to sleep.

Dave's Joke of the Day:

Today it was raining cats & dogs.
I stepped in a poodle!!
